Paula McNeill
Paula McNeill is drawn to the creative potential of the unsophisticated. Her recent experiments with print, collage and assemblage—including boxed sculptures—move beyond visible reality, with spontaneously applied forms and colours that embrace the primitive and unexpected. A storyteller at heart, she draws on her imagination to create a new expressive reality using paint, ink, collage, watercolour, gouache, fabric, newsprint, graphite and any other material at hand. Trained in signwriting, illustration, design and marketing at DFA Wellington, Paula has also studied painting, printmaking and associated art forms in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. She is a passionate painter and printmaker, a respected tutor and mentor, and has coordinated, curated and exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout New Zealand. An award-winning artist of distinction, her work is held in major collections nationally and internationally. Paula lives and works as a mixed-media artist and is your host at The White House Collectables in Coroglen, near Whitianga, New Zealand.
